One week in…and loving it

Well, it’s officially been a week in Buenos Aires and I am starting to actually get to know the city. Over the past few days we explored San Telmo and went to an awesome restaurant named Los Loros. Of course I had the one thing on the menu that said goat cheese.

On Wednesday I hung out with some Argentine guys down here. Jenny’s cousin for all of you Manheim people. We were supposed to have an asado, aka barbeque but it was raining so we just went to dinner and then went out to this bar called Liquid. It was me and about 6 Argentine guys and they were all so sweet and fun. We had a blast and I looked past the Euro-mullets and rat tails since everyone has them down here.

Yesterday was the beginning of football season and since most people I hang out with our UGA alumns, we decided to head to the American bar that plays football. They did not have the Georgia game…but they did serve pitchers of beer. If you don’t know, down here they mainly sell beer by the liter and everyone splits it….so a pitcher of beer was a good change. It ended up that there were about 6 other Georgia fans at the bar so I think we will try and turn it into a dawgs bar and make it our local Saturday spot!

This week I am going to start looking into finding some sort of work as well as buying myself a pair of shoes so that I can stop wearing my very American looking wallabes…although there is no hope, I will always look American.

I definitely miss my friends and family a lot but am thoroughly enjoying exploring Buenos Aires and making new friends!
