I heart you Landon Donovan. I know I am not alone when I say I let out a huge scream (and did a little dance) when the US scored in the 91st minute this morning. And I keep getting chills everytime the highlights come on from the first 3 games the US played in the World Cup! I couldn’t be more excited for both the US and Argentina to be playing in the knock out round this weekend!

VAMOS ARGENTINA!!!! I may or may not have had two Quilmes and a milanesa napolitana from the local Argentinean Steakhouse today just to show my support. :)

Just felt my first earthquake….a 5.9 on the scale. It lasted all of 20 seconds and I did not like it one bit. My heart is pounding, defintiely no sleep for me tonight.

Victory!!! I know it doesn’t seem like much but for me to put anything together from Ikea without throwing a hammer out of frustration is a success! And at least now I have something to sit on besides my bed!

This one’s for you mom! Put up my first shower curtain today and only had one freak out involving me, on the phone with my mother screaming about whether I need a curtain rod and/or lining…that was one of about seven freak outs I had on moving day today…but hey, I have a bed and I think I am going to get through it!

La Copa Mundial

Watching the World Cup preview and getting soooo excited. I just looked up all the places I can go to watch the World Cup, starting with Saturday morning at 7 a.m. to watch the Argentina game. Looks like I have to decide between Dublin Square and The Field. Since I have never been to either, I am just going to have to pick one and considering it will be 7 a.m. I am assuming neither will be too crazy. I hope no one judges me when I show up at 6:59 a.m…AND during my search I found an Argentinian restaurant in Little Italy, I will DEFINITELY be checking that one out…yeyyyy!!!

Lady GaGa Inspired Ride

Lady GaGa Inspired Ride

Scenes from the weekend. I am back to blogging because I actually have something to blog about. I was originally supposed to move to LA when I got back from Argentina but, shockingly, plans changed and for the last two weeks, I was chilling at my boss’s house (not as awkward as it sounds, but yes still somewhat strange) until they figured out where I was going to live. I am officially moving to San Diego and plan to be in my apartment by this weekend. I have absolutely 0 friends in this city so any and all friend recommendations are welcome.

This past weekend one of my good friends from high school and her brother came to San Diego to run the Half-Marathon, and we still managed to have a blast and they survived the 13.1 miles!

Highlights include:

  • Staying at the Westin in the GasLamp district for the weekend
  • Taking a pedicab/rickshaw around GasLamp with a built in iPod hook-up and blasting Lady GaGa
  • Brunch at JRDN in Pacific Beach accompanied by Strawberry Mango Mojitos
  • Amazing dinner at George’s in La Jolla overlooking the Pacific Ocean at sunset
  • Talbott and PX making in through the 13.1 miles and still having enough energy for a Sunday Funday.

I explored downtown San Diego for the first time this past weekend and really enjoyed what I saw. Now, I just need to find some friends to enjoy it with…
